01 · The market

Why sellers start in Romania

Romania is the strongest cash on delivery market in the EU. Somewhere between 60% and 65% of online orders are still paid to the courier at the door. That is not a niche preference, it is the default, and a checkout that only takes cards leaves most of the market on the table.

For a seller, three things line up here at once:

  • Buyers expect COD, so you are not persuading anyone to try something unfamiliar. You are meeting the habit they already have.
  • Ad costs are still reasonable compared with Western Europe, so the cost of getting a lead does not eat the margin before the parcel moves.
  • Fulfillment out of this hub is free, which means the warehouse leg of your cost is zero and you only pay for the courier.

Free fulfillment out of Romania is why this hub wins almost every Eastern European route, even against a warehouse that sits physically closer to the buyer.

02 · The network

Every route from the Romania hub

One warehouse, nine destinations. These are the live rates, per parcel, for the 300 g to 1.2 kg band. The rate depends on the route, never on your volume, and the table price is the invoice price.

Shipping plus free fulfillment. Return cost is what a refused parcel costs to bring back.

Fulfillment is €0 on every row, so shipping and total are the same number. Warehousing and storage are free too.

Reading the table

Romania, Bulgaria and Greece deliver in 24 hours. Those are the three strongest COD markets in the region and the fastest routes on the network. Romania at €3.31 with free returns is the cheapest and most forgiving combination we have.

Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary return free. That matters more than it looks. On those routes a refused parcel costs you the outbound leg only, which makes them unusually safe places to test a new product.

Poland runs on InPost home delivery. That is the door service, not the locker network. Lockers are a different product and change buyer behaviour, so ask us before you assume one or the other.

The full fee tables for all four warehouses, plus a profit calculator, are on the fees page.

03 · The money

What an order actually costs you here

Five cost lines touch a COD order. Out of Romania, two of them are zero.

€0

Fulfillment

Pick, pack, label and courier handover cost nothing out of this hub. On the Bulgaria, Spain and Italy warehouses this line runs €1 to €2.20.

€0

Warehousing and storage

Receiving, shelving, pallets and months on the shelf are free in every hub. Stock that waits costs you nothing, which is what makes buying a bulk batch reasonable. More on how much to hold on the warehousing page.

€1.20

Call centre, per lead

Per lead, not per attempt. Agents call up to seven times in the buyer's own language and only confirmed orders ship. More on the call centre page.

€3.31+

Shipping

From €3.31 depending on the destination. Charged on confirmed orders, because unconfirmed ones never reach the courier.

4%

COD collection

On delivered orders valued under $45. We handle the cash, and pay out to your own bank every Friday.

04 · The process

How it works, end to end

Your stock arrives at the warehouse

You ship it in, or we source and import it for you. Receiving and shelving are free, and there is no monthly storage charge while it sells through.

You run ads and collect leads

Name, phone, city on a simple form. No card, no checkout, no account. Leads land in the dashboard as they come in.

We call every lead before anything moves

In Romanian, in the buyer's own language, up to seven attempts. The address gets confirmed and the price gets said out loud. Only confirmed orders go to packing.

We pick, pack and hand to Sameday

Same day where the cut-off allows. Door delivery in 24 hours inside Romania.

The courier collects the cash

The buyer pays at the door. Refused parcels come back to the warehouse, free of charge on the Romania route, and go back into sellable stock.

You get paid every Friday

COD collected goes to your own bank account weekly. Not to a wallet you have to withdraw from.

05 · Starting

What you need to begin

Less than most people assume. There is no card processor in the flow, so there is no merchant account to be approved for and no company required before your first test.

What you do need is a product that suits the doorstep, enough stock to cover a first run, and enough cash to fund roughly two weeks of ads before COD money starts landing. On a €9 product at a €4 cost per lead, that is realistically €1,500 to €3,000 to do properly.

If you do not have a supplier yet, send a sourcing request. We check factories and prices in China, Hong Kong or Europe and come back with the landed cost into the Romania warehouse as one number, usually within 24 hours.

One thing that changed in 2026

The EU removed the €150 customs duty exemption from 1 July 2026, so importing one parcel at a time from China now carries a flat €3 duty per item type on every single order. Holding stock in a Romanian warehouse means one customs entry per restock instead of one per sale. The de minimis page has the per-order arithmetic.

06 · FAQ

Questions people ask

Yes. Pick, pack, label and courier handover are €0 on every route out of this hub, along with warehousing and storage. You pay the shipping rate, the €1.20 per lead call centre fee, the 4% COD collection on delivered orders under $45, and the return cost when a parcel actually comes back. Every number is published on the fees page.

24 hours with Sameday from courier handover. Add the confirmation call, which is usually the same day the lead arrives.

Bulgaria and Greece in 24 hours, then Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Slovenia in 48 hours. Italy is also servable from here. Nine destinations from one shelf, which means you can test a second market without moving stock.

Inside Romania, nothing. Returns are free on the Romania, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia and Slovenia routes. On Bulgaria, Greece, Poland and Italy a return costs the same as the shipping rate for that route. You are only charged when a parcel actually comes back.

No. You do not need a local entity to sell into Romania through us, and COD payouts go to your own bank account. Once you are trading at real volume you should talk to an accountant about VAT and invoicing obligations in your own country.

Enough to cover two to three weeks of expected sales, not more. Storage is free so there is no penalty for holding a little extra, but inventory risk is real and a product that does not move is money on a shelf. Most sellers start in the low hundreds of units on one product.

Yes. Sellers commonly run Romania as the main hub and add Bulgaria for the Greek route once return volume justifies it, because the Bulgaria hub handles returns at a flat €1. The Bulgaria page has a calculator showing exactly where that crossover sits.
